"account": "KUALA LUMPUR: Police have dismantled an international call centre scam syndicate operating out of Kuala Lumpur. Eighteen Taiwanese nationals were arrested after posing as law enforcement officers. The raid took place two days ago by the Dang Wangi district Commercial Crime Investigation Division. Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Azwan Amin Nordin, head of the Dang Wangi police, revealed that the detained individuals ranged in age from 19 to 43, with 17 men and one woman. Police seized 69 mobile phones, five laptops, and two Hong Kong police uniforms, which aided in uncovering the syndicate's modus operandi. According to the recovered items, the group allegedly impersonated Hong Kong police officers to scam victims in Hong Kong. Investigations uncovered that the syndicate used local internet facilities for their online scams, operating for five months. All those detained have been held for four days, with the possibility of further remand, to assist in the ongoing investigation under Sections 420 and 511 of the Penal Code.",
