"summary": "Dr Muhammad Solehin Saleh, brother of Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, is among 16 Bersama candidates contesting the Melaka state election. The 40-year-old medical doctor will represent the party in the Bemban state seat under the Jasin parliamentary constituency, facing four other candidates in a tight race. Akmal Saleh, on the other hand, is defending the Merlimau seat for Barisan Nasional in a one-on-one contest against Pakatan Harapan's Rahayu Hamzah. Akmal's last election victory in Melaka in 2021 saw him win with a substantial majority of 3,248 votes, and he later became a state executive councillor in charge of health before assuming the rural development, agriculture, and food security portfolio in 2023.",
