"account": "Melaka, October 31 — An elderly voter from Gemas, Negeri Sembilan, cycled an impressive 70 kilometres overnight to reach Bukit Katil for the Melaka State Election's nomination process. Sitdek Ahmad Ali, 68, did not let the long journey deter him from participating in the democratic process and showing his support for the candidates. The senior citizen began his journey from his hometown in Gemas the previous morning, cycling throughout the night and arriving in Bukit Katil around 4 am. Sitdek explained that he wanted to witness the nomination process up close and personally support the candidates vying for the Bukit Katil State Legislative Assembly seat. Upon arriving at the nomination centre in Dewan Tun Ali, Bukit Katil, Sitdek took a break at a nearby surau (mosque) before returning to the centre at approximately 7.30 am. Sitdek expressed his hope to visit additional nomination centres if time permitted, to follow the developments in the democratic process within the state. With the Election Commission setting November 14 as the polling day for the Melaka state election and early voting on November 10, Sitdek's long-distance cycling journey aimed to engage with the electoral process firsthand.",
