"account": "Bayern Munich's Harry Kane clinched the Ballon d'Or award, marking the first time an English player won the prestigious accolade since 2001. France Football, the organization responsible for the awards, disclosed on Friday that Kane triumphed over Kylian Mbappe by a mere 28-point margin. The magazine shared a detailed breakdown of the votes in its Friday edition.\n\nKane received an impressive 40 first-place votes from the 100 jurors and amassed a total of 1,055 points. Mbappe, representing France and playing for Real Madrid, secured the first-place position 23 times but ended up with 1,027 points. The previous record for the smallest margin of victory was set in 2024 when Manchester City's Rodri narrowly edged out Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior by 41 points.\n\nThe Ballon d'Or is bestowed upon the recipient following a vote by journalists representing the top 100 nations in the FIFA rankings for men and the top 50 for women. Last season, Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain led the pack with a staggering 1,380 points, finishing 321 points ahead of Barcelona's Lamine Yamal. However, Yamal claimed third place in the voting, 174 points behind Kane.",
