"account": "Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced on Friday that the United Conservative Party (UCP) has revoked the membership of separatist leader Jeffrey Rath. Smith made the decision after Rath publicly expressed his desire to turn the UCP into an independence party, which goes against the party's objective of remaining in Canada. In a statement, Smith said, \"He has said publicly things like he wants to come to the AGM to turn the UCP into an independence party — and we are not an independence party.\" The party's executive director had informed Rath of the decision via email. Rath, a prominent figure in the province's independence movement, had been a vocal critic of Premier Smith and had sought to force a vote on her leadership at the party's upcoming general meeting. The decision was made in response to the three-quarters of Alberta voters who chose to remain in Canada in a recent referendum.",
