"account": "Malawi's President Peter Mutharika has been absent for nearly three weeks, now spending 24 days in South Africa on what his government labels a private visit. The opposition and legal community demand transparency, asking why he is away and who is in charge during his absence. The main opposition party and lawyers argue that the public deserves reassurance as Malawi operates on a tight budget, imports fuel, and relies heavily on foreign aid and investment. With fuel and power shortages, as well as a shortage of medicines, the ruling party claims Mutharika is maintaining his constitutional duties, but the vice president's role is unclear.",
