"summary": "Nigeria has successfully secured a seat on the Board of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organisations (WAITRO), with the election of Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso as the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Representative. Ike-Muonso's victory at the WAITRO Summit in Istanbul, Türkiye, marks a significant milestone for the country and the RMRDC, as it provides Nigeria with a stronger voice in the international research and technology community. His role on the board is expected to advance African research priorities, strengthen international partnerships, and promote the application of research findings to industrial development across Sub-Saharan Africa.",
