"account": "Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, are a Pakistani human rights lawyer and activist couple who have been sentenced to 10 years in prison each by an anti-terrorism court. The verdict, handed down on October 29, 2026, stems from an incident in Islamabad in October 2024, where they allegedly removed road barriers near a route reserved for the England cricket team. Imaan Mazari is a well-known human rights lawyer who frequently represents people facing alleged abuses by state agencies, including journalists, activists, and members of minority communities. She is also a vocal critic of Pakistan's military establishment and human rights record. Hadi Ali Chattha, her husband, is also a lawyer and human rights advocate. The couple has consistently denied the charges, claiming their actions were related to their human rights work and that the proceedings are politically motivated due to their advocacy. The case has drawn international attention and criticism from human rights organizations, who argue that the punishments are disproportionate and the trial unfair.",
