"account": "President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana has emphasized the importance of expanding cultural exchanges and educational partnerships to deepen the historic ties between Ghana and Russia. During his official visit to Moscow for the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit, Mahama stressed that sustainable diplomatic and economic cooperation should be built on mutual cultural appreciation and historical solidarity. Beyond trade and state contracts, he argued that genuine cooperation must be rooted in a shared understanding of each nation's cultural identity and values.\n\nIn line with this vision, President Mahama visited a Kente exhibition organized by the Russia-Ghana Parliamentary Forum in Moscow. The showcase, coordinated by the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, featured traditional Ghanaian textiles. Mahama highlighted the significance of cultural symbols like the Kente cloth, which serve as historical narratives conveying the identity and values of a nation. He stressed that platforms like these promote cross-cultural dialogue and strengthen the social fabric binding the two countries together.\n\nMahama's emphasis on cultural and academic cooperation is rooted in his personal experience as a student in Moscow from 1986 to 1988. He noted that the exchange program shaped long-term bilateral diplomacy and welcomed a proposal by RUDN University to establish a Russian-African studies program. President Mahama highlighted the success of Ghanaians who received education in the former Soviet Union and Russia, returning home as skilled professionals in various fields.\n\nThe push for deeper cultural exchanges aligns with high-level talks, including a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss investments in solar energy, nuclear power, and agricultural inputs. President Mahama reaffirmed Ghana's non-aligned foreign policy stance, emphasizing that building strong ties with international partners is a sovereign right aimed at mutual national development. He stated that Ghana seeks partnerships that provide fair returns to investors and tangible economic benefits to its people, free from geopolitical rivalries.",
