"account": "Oman's navy rescued 25 sailors from a merchant vessel that was attacked and set on fire in the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz. The incident occurred as Iran has been blocking maritime traffic through the narrow waterway since February 28, following US-Israeli strikes on Iran. The RITI, a crude oil tanker flying the Panamanian flag, was one of three oil tankers that encountered unspecified events or mine strikes while attempting to navigate the unapproved route through the strait. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed they halted the tankers in the waters south of the strait after they disregarded radio warnings. Iran has demanded that ships use a designated route and coordinate their passage with the country's armed forces, labeling the southern corridor as unauthorized. The United States has countered Iran's blockade by imposing sanctions on Iranian ports.",
