"account": "The Notre Dame and Villanova team chaplains, Rev. Pete McCormick and Rev. Rob Hagan, in Rome, have a unique role in supporting their respective college basketball teams. McCormick, who is best known for calling postgame masses after Notre Dame football games, merges his love for basketball with his role as team chaplain. Hagan, a former criminal defense lawyer, now serves as the Prior Provincial of the Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova. The two chaplains will be in Rome for the college hoops season-opener against Villanova on Sunday, where they will precede the doubleheader with a private audience with Pope Leo XIV. They emphasize the importance of the unity brought by sports and recognize the diverse faith backgrounds of the players. Their responsibilities extend beyond pregame prayers, as they provide spiritual guidance, help students navigate setbacks, and encourage them to reflect on their faith traditions.",
