"account": "The City of Darwin has barred a Christian group from participating in the 2026 Darwin Christmas Pageant due to previous intimidating and confrontational behavior. The council received complaints from the public about participants tossing merchandise at spectators who did not want it. The NT government plans to take over the pageant from 2027, a decision that has sparked a disagreement between the council and the government. Darwin's Lord Mayor Peter Styles accused the NT government of making the council a \"punching bag\" and claimed the government is spreading misinformation. The Australian Christian Lobby, representing the group, denied the accusations and welcomed the NT government's takeover of the pageant, hoping to participate despite the controversy.",
