"account": "The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has issued a clarification regarding a false notification that has been spreading on social media. This notification falsely claims to establish equivalence between engineering technology degrees and traditional engineering qualifications. The document, dated October 29, 2026, asserts that a Bachelor of Technology (Honors) in Engineering or BSc Engineering Technology (Honors) is on par with a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or BSc Engineering degree. It also states that a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) is equivalent to 14 years of education in the relevant engineering field, allowing holders to gain direct entry into BE, BSc Engineering, and engineering technology programs, depending on the specific admission criteria of each university.\n\nThe HEC has unequivocally rejected this notification, asserting that it was not the source of this misleading information. They have strongly advised students, recent graduates, the general public, and all other stakeholders to disregard the document and refrain from sharing it. Furthermore, the HEC has recommended that everyone turn to their official website and its vetted social media channels for accurate and authentic updates. The account detailing this HEC Clarification on a Viral Notification about Engineering Degrees was originally published on ProPakistani.",
