"account": "A Malaysian man and his Vietnamese wife have been sentenced to 30 years in prison for trafficking 173kg of methamphetamine in Kuala Lumpur. According to prosecutors, the couple was arrested on February 24, 2022, after they allegedly trafficked the drugs at a condominium unit in Residensi Kiara Jalil 1. The High Court found that the prosecution had successfully proved their case beyond reasonable doubt, leading to their conviction on the charge. Tan Seng Tek, 34, received 12 strokes of the cane in addition to his sentence, while Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, 33, did not receive any additional punishment. The court ordered the prison sentence to run from the couple's arrest date. The Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 was cited in the charges, which also mentions the possibility of the death penalty or life imprisonment, with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane if not sentenced to death.",
