"account": "The Carolina Panthers have added former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Malcolm Dewalt IV to their team. Dewalt, an undrafted free agent out of Akron, signed with the Falcons after the 2026 NFL Draft and made the team's initial 53-man roster for the season. Despite not playing a regular season game, the Falcons retained him due to his versatility and size. However, with the return of A.J. Terrell from the injured reserve list and Billy Bowman Jr. now healthy, the Falcons felt they had sufficient depth at defensive back. The Panthers beat Atlanta to DeWalt, placing him on their practice squad. He has been officially signed to the Panthers' 53-man roster and a triceps injury has been placed on reserve/injured. The Panthers have also elevated offensive lineman Jake Curhan. Analysts suggest that if the rookie can secure a role, the Falcons might regret their decision to keep four healthy quarterbacks on their active roster. The Panthers currently lead the Falcons in the NFC South, making Thursday's game crucial.",
