"account": "In 1983, Gary Tang embarked on a life-changing journey to Japan, guided by the kindness of a senior student at Tokyo's University of Electro-Communications. Despite the language barrier and unfamiliarity with Japanese customs, the senior student helped Tang navigate the challenges of studying and settling in Japan. This experience left a lasting impression on Tang, who now seeks to extend the same kindness to other Malaysian students through his role as president of the Japan Graduates Association of Malaysia (Jagam). After receiving the Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendation for his contributions to the Malaysia-Japan exchange, Tang shared that he did not expect this recognition, as he had been driven by a passion to help the next generation. Through Jagam, Tang promotes study opportunities in Japan with initiatives such as the annual Japan Education Fair and cultural events. He emphasizes the importance of understanding, generosity, and mutual respect in building lasting relationships between countries, hoping to inspire more Malaysians to embrace these values.",
