"account": "Mathaf, the Arab Museum of Modern Art, has launched a community project called Qom'a, aiming to create a world record by involving 20,000 people from across Qatar in a massive paper mache sculpture. Supported by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Ministry of Municipality, the project utilizes reclaimed palm materials and pages from Mathaf's past exhibition catalogues to craft the papier-mâché mixture. The sculpture's name, Qom'a, derives from the Arabic word for the small cap that attaches a date to its stalk, symbolizing the connection of Qatar's cultural landscape. The idea was conceived by school students through workshops led by Mathaf's Learning and Outreach Department, who explored the museum's history, architecture, and collection to inspire a design centered around shared experiences. Mathaf Director Zeina Arida emphasized that art can foster connection, participation, and collective memory. The project encourages individuals and families of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to join the collective artwork, celebrating community, creativity, and sustainability. Registration is open until November 19, 2026, at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art.",
