"account": "Netflix has announced that The Diplomat, created by Debora Cahn, will return for a fifth season. The streaming platform confirmed the renewal of the tense, humorous, and occasionally sexy thriller on Thursday, citing impressive viewing figures and social engagement as the reason for the decision. While the specifics of the new season remain undisclosed, Netflix reaffirmed its commitment to Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell as they continue to portray the sparring spouses, ambassador Kate Wyler and vice president Hal, amidst various international conflicts. The renewal comes two weeks after the fourth season premiered on the platform, depicting tensions between the U.S. and the U.K. following an assassination attempt on President Grace Penn at Windsor Castle. This season renewal signifies a moment of stability and continuity at Netflix, which has recently undergone significant changes, including the departure of former chief content officer Bela Bajaria and the dismissal of original-series executive Carolina García. Peter Rice, a former Disney executive, took over Bajaria's role in late October.",
