"account": "KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong announced that the party has been awarded an extra seat, Bandar Hilir, in the upcoming Melaka State Election. This decision was finalized by Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) together today. The MCA will now contest three state constituencies, including Machap Jaya and Kelebang, along with the newly added Bandar Hilir seat. MCA's candidate for the Bandar Hilir seat is Melaka Historic City Council councillor Jasmine Lok Huey Yee, 38.\n\nThe addition of the Bandar Hilir seat is part of the process to finalize seat allocations between BN and PN for the Melaka polls. It comes after key PN leaders expressed their willingness to grant the seat to MCA, a move that does not impact the strategic cooperation between BN and its partners for the state election.\n\nBN plans to contest 22 seats in the 16th Melaka polls, with polling scheduled for November 14. The Election Commission (EC) has set the nomination day for Saturday, October 31, and early voting for November 10.",
