The assailant, whose identity remains unknown, launched a violent attack on Andrews Opoku, 28, as he returned home from visiting his girlfriend, Christiana Tetteh, in the dark. Opoku suffered a slashed forehead and left palm, bleeding profusely due to the brutal assault. He was rushed to AGA Hospital but was later transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi for treatment due to the seriousness of his wounds. The police are actively searching for the suspect, who fled the scene immediately after committing the crime and has not yet been apprehended. The Obuasi Divisional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) has filed a police report confirming the incident took place on October 21, 2026, around 9pm.
