"account": "Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa announced on October 28 that Russia would lobby BRICS members to support Ghana's bid to join the economic bloc as a partner country, citing assurances from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The decision follows Ghana's Cabinet approval on October 6 and marks an effort to expand Ghana's economic and diplomatic ties with emerging economies. This announcement came during a joint press briefing in Accra with India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.\n\nMr Ablakwa asserted that President John Dramani Mahama's administration would persist in pursuing such opportunities while adhering to Ghana's non-aligned foreign policy. The principle of being \"friends of all, enemies to none\" guides Ghana's diplomatic engagements, emphasizing alignment with national interest. BRICS, comprising major emerging economies, facilitates cooperation in trade, investment, and development, offering partner countries closer engagement. Russia's pledge to back Ghana's application provides diplomatic support, but further backing from BRICS members is essential for advancing the bid.",
