"account": "Cardiff Devils suffered their first home defeat of the EIHL season as Belfast Giants secured a 5-2 victory at Vindico Arena. The Devils, who had been unbeaten at home in 14 league, cup, and pre-season matches this season, struggled to find their form against Belfast. After a goalless opening period, Belfast's David Goodwin and Scott Conway scored twice during the second period, extending their lead to three goals by the third period. Cardiff's Thomas Caron finally broke the deadlock early in the third, but Belfast's Kaleb Pearson scored a penalty shot to restore their three-goal advantage. Head coach Paul Thompson lamented the defeat, stating that the Devils lacked energy and focus throughout the match. Despite having already secured the top spot in the EIHL standings with nine points from six games, Cardiff will face Guildford Flames in their next home game on October 31. The Devils' back-to-back cup wins earlier in the week may have contributed to their lackluster performance against Belfast, according to Thompson.",
