"account": "Kylian Mbappe, the French football star, faced a significant backlash in China after a comment perceived as an insult to Mao Zedong. The rapid negative response underscored the delicate balance celebrities and global brands must maintain when engaging with China's market. Despite Mbappe's swift apology, criticism continued to escalate on Chinese social media platforms. Major Chinese consumer brands distanced themselves from the footballer, Chinese state television canceled his matches, and some international sponsors removed posts featuring him. This incident highlighted the increasing risks for international brands operating in China, where a single misstep can swiftly tarnish the reputation of a high-profile endorsement. Shares of Mbappe's sponsors, On Holding, Eastroc Beverage Group, and China Mengniu Dairy, plummeted on Tuesday as investors assessed the potential business fallout of a once-valued endorsement losing its worth almost immediately in the world's second-largest consumer market.",
