"account": "Liverpool secured a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Chelsea in a League Cup last-16 tie at Anfield, advancing to the quarter-finals, while Manchester City narrowly avoided a shock defeat against Brighton. The match featured a clash between childhood friends Andoni Iraola and Xabi Alonso, with the Liverpool manager claiming victory. A 1-1 draw in normal time saw Chelsea's Morgan Rogers score from the spot, but Cody Gakpo equalized for Liverpool just before halftime. Chelsea's Valentin Barco hit the post in the shoot-out, and Liverpool's Kostas Tsimikas missed a chance to win it. Ryan Gravenberch was denied by Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders, but Giorgi Mamardashvili saved Emmanuel Emegha's kick. Joe Gomez scored for Liverpool, and Wesley Fofana's miscue helped the hosts advance. Former Liverpool midfielder Alonso now has a record of three defeats in his three visits to Anfield as a manager.",
