"account": "Espanyol appointed Eder Sarabia as their new head coach on Wednesday, following the dismissal of Manolo Gonzalez. The decision came after Espanyol's first-round Copa del Rey defeat by fourth division Sestao River. Sarabia, 46, was introduced to the world shortly after Gonzalez's dismissal.\n\nSarabia's coaching journey began as an assistant to Quique Setien at Las Palmas, Betis, and Barcelona. He then took on a head coach role with Andorra before guiding Elche to LaLiga. Currently, Espanyol finds themselves in 18th place in LaLiga, having amassed only eight points from their first ten matches of the season.\n\nGonzalez had been the coach of Espanyol since March 2024, guiding the team back to LaLiga for the previous two seasons. He now joins a list of three other coaches who have been sacked from Spain's elite football division this season. Luis Miguel Ramis was dismissed from Osasuna, and Carlos Corberan was let go from Valencia.",
"summary": "Eder Sarabia has his work cut out at the Barcelona-based club, who sit 18th in LaLiga with just eight points from 10 matches this season.",
