"account": "Espanyol has appointed Eder Sarabia as their new head coach, replacing Manolo Gonzalez following the club's first-round Copa del Rey defeat. Sarabia, 46, was unveiled as Espanyol's new coach on Wednesday, just a day after Gonzalez was dismissed.\n\nThe Spanish club's new coach has an extensive coaching background, having started as an assistant to Quique Setien at Las Palmas, Betis, and Barcelona. He later moved to a head coach role with Andorra and Elche, leading the latter to La Liga.\n\nCurrently, Espanyol finds themselves in a challenging position, sitting 18th in La Liga with only eight points from their first ten matches of the season. Gonzalez had been Espanyol's coach since March 2024, guiding the team back to La Liga for the previous two seasons.\n\nThe dismissal of Gonzalez marks the third coaching change in Spain's elite football division this season, following the sacking of Luis Miguel Ramis at Osasuna and Carlos Corberan at Valencia. Sarabia now faces a daunting task in reviving Espanyol's fortunes in La Liga.",
