"account": "On Tuesday, the City of Hope organization honored Larry Mestel, founder and CEO of Primary Wave, at its annual Spirit of Life gala in Los Angeles. Mestel, who has a personal connection to the organization due to the loss of his sister to breast cancer and uncle to lymphoma, spoke passionately about his support for City of Hope, praising doctor Dr. Leo Wang as \"the real rock star tonight.\" The gala featured performances by Melissa Etheridge, Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, and a virtual performance by Pete Townshend, all of whom have professional ties to Mestel and Primary Wave. Mestel emphasized that his philanthropic endeavors were not solely about his music company but aimed to have a meaningful impact on people's lives. The event aimed to raise $10 million for City of Hope's work in CAR T cell therapy and breast cancer research. Nicks concluded the night by performing her hit \"Landslide\" and sharing her personal connection to the organization through the stories of four cancer survivors.",
