"summary": "Donald Trump has rejected reports that he instructed Vice President JD Vance to initiate peace negotiations with Iran. Responding to reporters at Joint Base Andrews, Trump stated that the communication was instead focused on providing medical supplies to help people who are unwell.\n\nAccording to the Wall Street Journal, Vance sent a letter to Mohsen Rezaei, the Iranian Security Council chief, requesting the revival of peace talks. The Daily Post Nigeria reports that these talks are expected to negotiate a framework to end the war, with Washington demanding nuclear concessions while Tehran seeks immediate economic relief.\n\nIranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that while his country is open to diplomacy, its armed forces are prepared to defend the homeland. Additionally, Iranian Parliament National Security Chief Ebrahim Azizi advised the United States to build trust and provide reliable guarantees to ensure Iranians are convinced the country will not return to past behaviors.",
