"account": "On the eve of South Africa's November 4 elections, the Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced that its results system, known as the National Results Operations Centre (ROC), is now fit for purpose. The ROC was unveiled at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg. It will act as the central hub for processing and disseminating results from the 23,000 polling stations nationwide. Additionally, the ROC will function as the control center for overseeing the electoral process, enabling stakeholders such as political party representatives, independent candidates, and the media to monitor the polls' integrity. IEC CEO Sy Mamabolo stated, \"To ensure the system's functionality and cybersecurity resilience, it has undergone independent testing and auditing. While the audit identified some issues, our report to the nation is that these issues have been resolved, and the results system is now officially declared ready and fit for purpose.\"",
