"account": "Ben Davies, a defender for Tottenham Hotspur and Wales, has been appointed to the Football Association of Wales (FAW) Council in August 2026. The 33-year-old looks comfortable in the formal environment of the committee room, where he occupies a unique position bridging the gap between the pitch and boardroom. Davies, a Europa League winner and Champions League runner-up, hopes to use his stature and experience to give back to Welsh football and help it reach the levels he has seen in the world of football. He sees his mandate as broad-reaching, focusing on ensuring that decisions made at the governance level translate into tangible benefits across the Welsh domestic pyramid, from grassroots to professional levels. Davies, who has previously represented Welsh cultural interests on wider public platforms, brings a thoughtful and articulate approach to governance, having earned his Uefa A Licence in coaching. He sees his role as a great learning experience as well as an opportunity to give back to a footballing country that has given him so much.",
