"account": "India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has faced significant backlash after asserting that India attracts more foreign investment than countries like Pakistan due to its workforce's unwavering determination to work and disregard for weekends. During a speech at the India-Netherlands Business Forum on October 27, he stated, \"Indians want to work hard. Nobody in India will tell you it’s five o’clock. And certainly no Indian will ever remind you it’s the weekend.\" He added that India's \"economies of scale\" will enable businesses to expand beyond current imaginings. Goyal made these remarks during a visit aimed at attracting Dutch investment, addressing around 200 business representatives and executives from various companies. The comments have sparked criticism on Indian social media platforms, with many accusing Goyal of dehumanizing Indian workers and promoting an exploitative work ethic. The International Labour Organization ranks India among the world's most overworked nations, according to a user on X. Congress leader Karti Chidambaram called Goyal's remarks \"ridiculous,\" emphasizing that India's lack of professional hour boundaries is not a strength. This debate on work-life balance has been ongoing in India, with notable figures like Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan previously advocating for long working hours.",
