"account": "The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has chosen Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri as their candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha by-election in Madhya Pradesh. The election will take place on November 12, 2026. This decision came after L. Murugan, the previous holder of the position, resigned from both his Union Ministry and Rajya Sabha seat on October 14, 2026. Murugan's term was set to end on April 2, 2030. The BJP announced Puri as their candidate on October 28, 2026. Puri, currently a Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh, was not re-nominated by the party during their earlier elections. This has led to speculation that he might lose his Cabinet berth, as his term would come to an end on November 25, 2026. The election process, including the nomination and withdrawal deadlines, will be completed by November 16, 2026.",
