"account": "The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) will investigate a fatal boat collision that occurred off the coast of Perlis early yesterday morning, resulting in the death of one of its intelligence officers. Roshaimi Ridzuan, the victim, was killed when his patrol boat collided with a concrete structure during a chase involving undocumented migrants. Three other MMEA officers sustained injuries during the incident, which took place in the waters near Kuala Sungai Padang, close to Kuala Perlis. MMEA deputy director-general (operations) Zawawi Abdullah revealed that the agency's investigation aims to assess whether Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) need enhancement to prevent similar mishaps. He emphasized that the agency provides specific SOPs for every operation and routinely reminds its personnel to adhere to them. Following Roshaimi's funeral in Kuala Nerang, Kedah, Zawawi stated that the investigation will also explore other aspects for improvement, such as personnel training and operational equipment. He added that the investigation will commence promptly and may span several weeks to conclude. Furthermore, Zawawi assured that Roshaimi's widow and their two school-aged children will receive suitable assistance from the agency.",
