"summary": "A grand jury has rejected an effort by federal prosecutors to secure an indictment against former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson. According to CBS News, the Justice Department has not yet responded to requests for comment on the matter. The Washington Post first reported that the grand jury declined to indict Hutchinson.\n\nHutchinson, a former top aide to White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, provided testimony to a House select committee regarding Donald Trump's conduct during the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. During her 2022 testimony and depositions, she stated that Trump and Meadows were warned on that day that supporters were carrying weapons, but Trump said he did not care.\n\nHutchinson also testified that Trump attempted to order officials to remove magnetometers at his rally and relayed a story involving an incident where Trump grew incensed after his lead Secret Service agent would not drive him to the Capitol following his speech at the White House Ellipse.",
