"account": "Three brothers - Tal Alexander, 40, and twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39 - were sentenced to 30 years each in prison for their alleged involvement in a sex trafficking case. The trio was found guilty of drugging and raping dozens of women over the course of many years, according to prosecutors. Judge Valerie Caproni emphasized the severity of their crimes, stating that their conduct had \"wreaked havoc on their lives.\"\n\nTwelve victims took the stand to recount their experiences, detailing the psychological trauma they endured after being raped by the Alexander brothers. Many victims expressed their desire for the shame they felt to be placed upon the defendants instead. For instance, Maya Miller stated that after Tal Alexander raped her in 2014, she lost all sense of safety and now carries a \"quiet funeral within me for the person I might have become if this never happened to me.\"\n\nAnother victim, known as Isa Brooks, recounted how Tal and Alon Alexander raped her when she was 16, leaving her unable to trust herself. She also recounted a threat from Tal Alexander to expose her sister's workplace if she came forward about the assault. During the victims' testimonies, the brothers showed little emotion, staring ahead or conversing with their attorneys, who advised them not to look at the victims to avoid misinterpretation.\n\nThe defense attorneys argued that their clients should receive sentences of 15 years, claiming that they had become devoted fathers whose families would suffer without them. However, Judge Caproni rejected these pleas and sentenced each brother to 30 years in prison for certain crimes and an additional 20 years in prison for other crimes, with the sentences to be served concurrently.",
