"summary": "The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is investigating suspected artificial intelligence-generated photographs found in the preliminary voter register published on its website. The commission has promised to clean up verified irregularities before certifying the final register on December 15. INEC identified and flagged questionable registration records during the physical display of the preliminary register at registration sites across the country, while clarifying that the online version published on October 26 does not reflect ongoing data-cleanup activities.",
