"account": "The story surrounding Manchester United's decision to retain Michael Carrick as their manager unfolded over a tumultuous 48 hours after their defeat to Bournemouth. The team's poor performance, considered one of the worst in club history, led to a hostile atmosphere among fans and criticism from key players such as Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez. Despite these concerns, United decided to keep Carrick on board for their upcoming match against Chelsea. The club's hierarchy believed that the players, who were capable of qualifying for the Champions League, should bear some responsibility for their underperformance. While some cynics argue that United's inability to secure a replacement before the Chelsea game kept Carrick in the job, the club appeared reluctant to make changes, possibly due to the expenses associated with hiring and firing coaches.",
