"account": "Spain's Alexia Putellas has secured an impressive record-equalling third Ballon d'Or Feminin, cementing her status as a football icon. As the 32-year-old midfielder, often nicknamed \"La Reina\", triumphed yet again, she matched the record of three titles previously held by her team-mate Aitana Bonmati. This victory marks a major milestone for Spanish football, as Putellas and Bonmati have alternated winning the prestigious award six times over the past six years. Putellas emerged as the clear winner in the voting process, which was conducted by journalists from Fifa's top-50 nations. She outshone former Barcelona team-mate Ewa Pajor, who finished in second place, while Manchester City's forward Khadija Shaw took third place. The emotional victory speech delivered by Putellas reflected on her journey back from a devastating ACL injury suffered shortly before the European Championships in 2022. She acknowledged her team's resilience, her role as captain, and the support she received from her close circle, including family, friends, and her former teammates. The midfielder's individual campaign was nothing short of sensational, with 21 goals and 13 assists across all competitions. Putellas' creative output was unparalleled, contributing significantly to Barcelona's historic quadruple achievement. In her new role at London City Lionesses, she has already made an impact, scoring three goals and providing an assist in her first seven appearances in the Women's Super League. Putellas' success serves as an inspiration to the next generation of footballers, emphasizing that talent and passion know no gender or background, and that the pitch is open to any child with a genuine love for the game.",
"summary": "Spain icon Alexia Putellas has officially reclaimed her throne at the top of world football by securing a record-equalling third Ballon d'Or Feminin. The midfielder’s triumph ensures the prestigious award remains in Spanish hands for the sixth year in a row, following her heroics for Barcelona and the national team.",
