"account": "Harry Kane secured his inaugural Ballon d’Or award at a ceremony in London on Monday night. The Bayern Munich and England forward outshone a roster of players, including Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal, to claim the prestigious accolade. Kane breaks a 25-year drought for English players, as Michael Owen last won the award in 2001. The current holder, Ousmane Dembele, relinquished the title to Kane. This marks a first for Bayern Munich in 45 years, since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claimed the prize in 1981. The award-winning campaign for Kane was characterized by a prolific season, culminating in Bundesliga title, DFB Cup, and a third-place finish at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with England. He became the all-time leading scorer with a record 71 goals in the season, earning him the golden shoe award. Additionally, Kane was named the best men's striker of the year at the ceremony. Other standout awards from the night included Yamal being named the men's best young talent of the year, with Spain securing the most awards overall, showcasing dominance in both male and female categories.",
