"summary": "The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency (SMPA) has announced that 48 riot police units will be deployed to maintain order during the inspection of ballots cast in the June 3 local elections, led by special counsel Lee Tae-han. The inspection will take place at the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium in southeastern Seoul on Wednesday, where the agency will examine 2.47 million ballots, surveillance camera footage, and other material. The inspection comes amid an unprecedented shortage of ballots in the local elections, with protesters blocking the removal of ballot papers from the vote counting center. To help maintain order during the inspection, the SMPA will deploy 48 riot police units, along with 150 police officers for dialogue and mediation, and 300 detectives and investigators, totaling around 3,330 officers.",
