"account": "Britain has decided not to participate in the Canada-led Defence, Security and Resilience Bank initiative, a setback for the creation of the world's first global defence bank. Instead, Britain and Canada announced their intention to develop a framework for cooperation between their respective defence-funding initiatives, establishing two separate institutions that will complement each other. The Multilateral Defence Mechanism (MDM) will focus on accelerating defence investment and joint procurement, while the DSRB, based in Canada, will support investment in defence industries and supply chains, with a greater emphasis on lending to individual sovereign states. The two nations were unable to agree on crucial issues, such as the location of the joint institution's headquarters, joint procurement levels, lending to members, and rules for new members. The DSRB, which has faced challenges securing support from larger European nations, aims to raise approximately €100 billion (US$112 billion) to lend at low cost to governments and contractors for defence projects. So far, Albania, Belgium, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine, along with Canada, have pledged their support.",
