"account": "Nigerians can now check preliminary voter registration details online through the Independent National Electoral Commission's website. This move comes after complaints over the absence of the register on the website during the inspection period. Here's how to access and verify the information:\n\n1. Go to the INEC online register portal at https://display.inecnigeria.org/.\n2. Sign in to an existing account before viewing the register. Follow on-site sign-in instructions.\n3. Once signed in, select your state, local government area, ward and polling unit. You can also enter a polling unit code to find the specific register.\n4. The portal will display names and photos of registered voters in the chosen polling unit. Users can jump to surnames beginning with a specific letter to navigate the list more easily. Verify that your own name and other registered details are correct. The platform can also be used to check other registered voters in your polling unit.\n5. Keep in mind the portal's limitations - it only allows viewing of the preliminary register and cannot be used for voter registration, transferring registration to another polling unit or replacing a Permanent Voter Card. It does not allow searches for a specific individual's name nationwide. Users are limited in the amount of information they can view to protect the register from misuse.\n\nAfter the online inspection period, INEC will process claims and objections to the preliminary register before the final registration and publication on December 15, 2026. Voters who find errors should consult INEC's guidance on submitting claims or objections, as the online portal itself cannot correct voter registration issues.",
