"account": "Dax Shepard recounted an incident from when Elizabeth Holmes attempted to secure a guest spot on his podcast, “Armchair Expert,” while Holmes was still under house arrest. On the podcast's Monday episode, Shepard and co-host Monica Padman discussed the encounter. Padman recalled receiving a \"crazy\" outreach from Holmes and her associate Billy Evans. Both hosts felt uneasy, believing the request to be suspicious. Shepard, already skeptical of Holmes due to her involvement in the Theranos scandal, was reluctant to delve into her false claims. He explained, \"My memory is I all of a sudden went, 'This is a zero win for me personally because I think she's a liar, and I'm going to have to confront her lying.'\" The hosts later discovered an email from 2023 sent by Evans, which expressed frustration with the back-and-forth and expressed reservations about Zoom conversations, citing a lack of trust. This sentiment was echoed by Padman, who, after watching a documentary about Holmes and the events leading up to her incarceration, felt a chill upon reading the email. Padman speculated that Evans may have reached out to the show with the hope of garnering a more favorable portrayal, especially considering the documentary's candid approach.",
