"account": "Vice-President Kashim Shettima has harshly criticised Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, stating he offers no real solutions to Nigerians. At an event in Abuja, Shettima stated that Obi's approach is limited to citing statistics, offering no substantial contributions to the country. He urged the country's economic community to support the Federal Government's policies, particularly on petrol subsidy removal.\n\nShettima highlighted the contrast in petrol prices between Nigeria and its neighbours, arguing that the economic implications of the country's previous fuel pricing arrangements are evident. He cited data showing that a litre of fuel in Niger Republic costs N1,148.36, compared to N1,390 in Nigeria, while it is N1,729.29 in Benin Republic and N1,945.50 in Cameroon. Shettima emphasised that Nigeria was once seen as a model in the region, but the current situation has changed.",
