"account": "Apple unveils the iPad mini 8, the smallest tablet currently running iPadOS. The device arrives shortly after iPhone Duo began shipping. Sporting an 8.5-inch display, the iPad mini 8 is larger than its predecessor, making it a compelling choice for users seeking a portable tablet experience. Powered by the new A20 Pro chipset, the tablet promises seamless performance throughout its lifespan.\n\nOne notable advancement is the introduction of OLED technology in the iPad mini 8, a first for Apple. This innovation will allow users to evaluate whether the display quality justifies the upgrade. Additionally, the tablet supports both Apple Pencil (USB-C) and Apple Pencil Pro, offering versatility for creative professionals and students alike.\n\nApple Pencil compatibility remains intact, ensuring seamless integration with the new device. The redesigned Center Stage camera feature now sits centrally on the long horizontal edge, aligning with the look of other iPad models. The inclusion of IP67 dust and water resistance, previously absent in iPad minis, ensures the device can withstand accidental spills and brief submersion in water—although it is essential to remain vigilant against prolonged exposure to moisture.\n\nNetworking capabilities have been enhanced with support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, promising faster speeds and improved connectivity when paired with compatible accessories and routers. The iPad mini 8 also embraces Apple's C2 modem for cellular functionality, supporting 5G sub-6GHz and Gigabit LTE, enabling users to stay connected on the go.\n\nStarting at $699 for 128GB of storage, the iPad mini 8 offers storage options ranging up to 512GB. A cellular version, priced at $849, is available for users seeking seamless connectivity without Wi-Fi. Preorders began on October 28, with shipments expected to reach customers by November 6.",
