"summary": "Pakistan's Foreign Office issued a statement on Monday strongly condemning recent Houthi missile attacks against the Makkah and Madina regions of Saudi Arabia. The official press statement described the strikes as a grave violation of sovereignty and expressed deep concern regarding the escalating military actions directed at civilian and religious territories.\n\nAl-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al-Tayeb also renewed his condemnation of the attacks on Mecca, Medina, and surrounding areas, as well as civilian facilities, on Monday, October 26, 2026. According to the Egypt Independent, Saudi air defenses intercepted the latest attacks near the holy sites. Al-Azhar noted that the strikes came dangerously close to the precincts of the Two Holy Mosques and warned that such actions offend the sentiments of nearly two billion Muslims. The institution expressed hope for the formation of an urgent mediation and de-escalation committee composed of respected figures from the Muslim world to promote peace.",
