"summary": "In Serbia’s snap parliamentary elections, the Student List has secured victory based on preliminary projections from the polling agency Ipsos and the Center for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID). According to UATV English, these projections, which are based on 96% of processed sample data, show the student movement receiving 52.9% of the vote. This places the Student List 14.1 percentage points ahead of the Aleksandar Vučić — United Serbia list, which is projected to receive 38.8% of the vote.\n\nThe Student List is projected to win 140 of the 250 parliamentary seats, providing the movement with an absolute majority, while the Aleksandar Vučić — United Serbia list is projected to receive 103 seats. Following the results, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos congratulated the opposition bloc on X. Von der Leyen also noted that citizens participated in the election in record numbers.\n\nLe Monde English reports that the defeat of the coalition led by the former president, who held power for 14 years, marks a major democratic transition that could potentially bring a new sense of calm to the Balkans.",
