"summary": "Nigeria’s index case of the imported Ebola virus disease was evacuated from Abuja to Switzerland via an air ambulance early Monday, according to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate. Pate stated the patient’s clinical condition had improved significantly, noting she was stable, conscious, and able to communicate. While her laboratory test results were approaching baseline levels, the minister cautioned that she could still be infectious and emphasized that strict public health protocols remain in place.\n\nThe patient, who is the wife of a Swiss diplomat in Nigeria, was accompanied by her spouse, who has remained asymptomatic, Daily Trust reports. Premium Times and Daily Post Nigeria report the evacuation occurred through the private jet wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. Daily Post Nigeria noted that a convoy consisting of three vehicles, including ambulances and diplomatic vehicles, arrived at the airport's private section, and airport officials reportedly cordoned off the area.",
