"summary": "Meta has officially launched a dedicated Instagram app for Apple TV users in Malaysia, enabling viewers to watch content natively on their televisions without needing to cast or mirror from a mobile device. This move is part of Meta's strategy to bring its video-first experience to shared household screens, focusing on lean-back video consumption with features like watching Reels, longer creator uploads, and live broadcasts on television sets. The interface is built around interest channels that auto-play continuous video streams, making it easy to discover new clips or catch up on content from followed accounts. However, the app lacks core social features available on the mobile client, such as creating or publishing posts, Reels, or Stories, direct messaging, and traditional photo feeds. These limitations are due to the app's primary focus on viewing video content. The dedicated app requires tvOS 26.0 or later and is available for free download from the tvOS App Store in Malaysia. This launch follows Meta's gradual rollout of its big-screen interface on other platforms, including Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and Samsung smart TVs.",
