"account": "Sonos, known for its home audio systems, has introduced a clever feature that allows portable Play speakers to function as rear surrounds for certain soundbars. This new capability, supported by the Beam Ultra and other soundbars like Arc, Arc Ultra, and Beam (Gen 2), offers a flexible home theater setup. The Play speakers automatically switch between rear surrounds and standalone music playback, detected by an accelerometer within the speakers and Sonos Positioning Technology using near-ultrasonic signals. While initial tests faced minor issues, the feature ultimately delivers a more immersive sound experience, as demonstrated by the author during a test of The Batman's car chase scene.",
"summary": "Sonos has forever been synonymous with wireless, multi-room audio, but it's latest endeavour transforms a surround sound setup into something much more versatile.",
